I spent another cool, sunny day watching monarch butterflies along Clair Street. What a pleasure!
I found the same, distinctive male I saw yesterday, doing the same things and hanging out mostly in the same part of the yard.
I brought a camera with a 200 mm telephoto lens, which allowed me to get better photos to help identify individual butterflies. I'll share a few photos...
Three butterflies tried to mate at once. Unsurprisingly, it wasn't a successful mating. The one on the left is female. The one on the right is male. The one below--sex unknown.
